
ACT'N UP THEATRE COMPETITION
Overview
Act’n Up Theatre Competition is a quarterly acting competition designed to serve as a platform for actors to continue to sharpen and showcase (showoff) their talents and skills in a fun exciting way. The competition consists of 4 -6 components, which will be produced on a rotating basis each quarter of the year. They are Monologue Mayhem, Battle Scenes, Triple Threat Thespians, Improv Invictus, One Act Wars, and Act’n up in 24.

The Components

Battle Scenes
This competition for scene partners is produced in the first quarter of the year in the month of February. This battle of duos pits pairs of actors against each other in a faceoff, presenting 4 scenes over 5 rounds of competition, with one team of actors taking the coveted title of Battle Scene Champions and monetary grand prize.

Monologue Mayhem
The monologue competition is produced in the second quarter of the year in the month of May. Inspired by both the NFL Playoffs and NCAA’s March Madness, the competition pits 32 actors against each other in a “head to head” faceoff, presenting 4 monologues over 5 rounds of competition, with one actor taking the coveted title of Monologue Master and a monetary grand prize.

Triple Threat Titans
This musical theatre competition is produced in the third quarter of the year in the month of August.. Showcasing the three aspects of musical theatre, acting, dance, and singing, this challenge pits actors against each other in a faceoff, presenting a monologue, a song, and a dance and culminates with a combination of all three in the fourth and final round. All for the right to wear the tile of Triple Threat Titan.

Improv Immortals
This competition is produced in the fourth quarter of the year in the month of November. Focusing on the technique of improv, it pits teams of actors against one another as they act out scenarios created by and with the audience, on the spot. All for the right to wear the title of Improv Immortals
